May 11 2010- Dogs pound Mets

Great but cold night at Hadlock field. Sea Dogs bats woke up for 4 runs in the 1st inning off Mets starter Scott Show. Jose Iglesias was the offensive star of the game going 3-4 (2 singles, triple) with 4 runs batted in. In the 5th inning Portland rightfielder Ryan Kalish slugged his 5th homerun of the season.
Anthony Rizzo was called up to Portland and made his AA debut. His first at bat was a productive one driving in a run on a sac fly to rightfield. He ended up walking and being hit by a pitch. Pitching for the Sea Dogs was right hander Stephen Fife. he held his own by pitching 6 innings, giving up zero runs. With the win his record advances to 2-1 on the season.
Next up: First Sox game of the season- Toronto at Boston
