Well here we are game number 3 of the young season. (for me at least) Portland is playing the New Britain Rock Cats. Minnesota Twins AA affilate. Today was extra special I took my cousin's husband Gary who has never been to a baseball game! What a day it was. Bright sunshine high of about 80 degrees. It's offical baseball is back!
Ok on to the game, starting for the Sea Dogs was south-paw Felix Doubront. A little suprising that he started the season in Portland. He pitched the entire 2009 season in Portland and went 8-6 with a 3.35 era. But any case he is today's starter. A little excitment happend in the 2nd Portland cleanup hitter Luis Exposito was thrown at twice in a row. (both went behind him) It happend again in the 5th and both benched and bullpend cleared on to the field. No punches were thrown but quite a stir on the field. As far as the game went Portland was the winner on this afternoon 4-1. Felix Doubront pitched 5 1/3 strong innings giving up just 1 run. Bryce Cox came in for the last 1 1/3 innings for the save.
